How to register for the KICKASS FILM FEST 2022
Students $50
Students will be able to obtain a student discount by emailing us for a discount code. If you do not use a school email adress your money will be refunded and you will be asked to re-register.

after this deadline our price will go from $75 to $100 so get in early!

What to expect?
On the day filming starts you will be given a line of use, prop, character, and genre you must incorporate in your film in just 72 hours. After that we will review all films and judge them for the following awards; KICKASS film award (Best Short Film), Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay, Best Score, Best Set Design, Best Use of Line, Best Use of Character, Best Use of Prop, Best Ensemble Cast and Audience Choice which will be voted on during the showcase ceremony.
You can expect filmmakers from all experience levels to participate in the competition. We aim to have a award ceremony and screening that will make any film maker feel like a big time movie producer with red carpet experience and more!
Meet and Greet.
The Kick Ass Meet and Greet is one of the best Film Networking events in all of Southern Colorado. We will be networking and award filmmakers from our sister festival "Flick-a-Mania" in our 150 capacity theatre, with food and drinks. This is where people can form teams and fill slots that may be missing on their team! We invite Actors, Filmmakers, Makeup artists, musicians, and more! Filmmakers are encouraged to submit their films into Flick-A-Mania.
What is a Film Festival?
Our 72 Hour Film Festival will have unlimited team members but only 72 hours to create an original short film. This means you will be able to gather a team of Videographer, Screenwriters, Cinematographers, Actors, Editors, and who ever else you may need to come up with a film in just 72 hours using the prompts, subjects, and lines, we will provide you at the beginning of the competition.

Don't have a team?​
Many people complete this task solo but it helps to have a team, this is totally up to you. However if you need team mates we will be hosting a "Meet and Greet " at Wake Up, we will be awarding films for our sister festival "Flick-a-Mania" and giving you the opportunity to network with other creators, actors, and writers. This is a great place to see who you will be competing against as well as find a team you can be apart of or create a team with the others who may not have a team.​ Feel free to email us at kickassfilmfest@gmail.com to be featured below as a wildcard team member we will be happy to help find you a team!

What If I miss a deadline?All deadlines are final. Registers must be submitted on time as well as films during the competition.

What are the awards?This years awards are to be determined. However we aim to match or beat last years awards and prizes which consisted of a glass plaque, certificate, and sponsored gift. Sponsored gifts included; $1,000 Cash, $500 Cash, GoPro Hero 9, Film Convert Software, Cinematch Software, Screenwriting Software, and more. Award Catagories: KICKASS film award (Best Short Film), Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay, Best Score, Best Set Design, Best Use of Line, Best Use of Character, Best Use of Prop, Best Ensemble, Audience Choice.

What are the rules?Teams will have 72 hours to write, film, and edit a 5-7 minute film. We will give everyone a prop, character, and line of dialoue that they must incorporate into their film in the same 72 hours as everyone else. You cannot turn in your film after the 72 hours is up.

What if I do not live in Pueblo Colorado?No problem! We highly encourage film makers from the entire United States to enter the festival. However you will have to film within our timezone dates and times which is Mountain Time USA
