Filmmakers Kicass Registration 2027

THIS REGISTRATION IS FOR TEAM LEADERS COMPETING IN THE 2027 KICKASS FILM FEST.

Register your team for the 72-Hour Kickass Film Fest, an immersive filmmaking competition built for filmmakers of all experience levels. Compete solo or assemble your own team and create an original short film from concept to final export in just 72 hours.

At the kickoff, each team will receive a randomly assigned genre plus required creative elements including a line of dialogue, character, and prop. Those elements must be incorporated into the finished film.

2027 FILMING WINDOW

Kickoff Call / Competition Start: Friday, February 5, 2027 at 6:00 PM MST via Zoom.

Submission Deadline: Monday, February 8, 2027 at 6:00 PM MST.

The deadline is a strict 72-hour deadline. Films and required documentation must be submitted by 6:00 PM MST on February 8. NO EXCEPTIONS.

After submission, films will be reviewed and scored by judges from the film and entertainment industry across the festival award categories.

REGISTRATION PRICING

Early Registration: $80 — ends November 1, 2026.

Regular Registration: $95 — ends January 1, 2027.

Late Registration: $115 — ends February 3, 2027.

Optional Feedback Package Add-On: $50 — receive personalized feedback on your film from an industry-insider special guest judge. The 2027 special guest judge is TBA. In 2026, the special guest judge was Jeffrey Reddick, creator of Final Destination.

AWARD CEREMONY

The 2027 Kickass Film Fest Award Ceremony will take place Saturday, March 27, 2027 at the ENT Center for the Arts in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
